Business Succession Planning

Providing Asset Protection for Businesses

Einbinder & Dunn's business succession planning services have been a critical part of the firm's overall focus in representing individuals who own businesses in New York and other states. Knowing that each business is as unique as the individual who owns it, attorneys at the firm work closely with clients on an individual basis to create business succession plans to accomplish the client's desired goals while providing important peace of mind as well.

As part of this planning process, the firm counsels clients on many of the complicated issues associated with the transfer of business ownership interests and assets, including franchise law, tax law, corporate governance requirements and debtor-creditor law. Other matters that need to be discussed include: updates to existing wills, trusts and insurance policies; compensation structures; and exit planning.

In most cases, the end results of the business succession planning process will be incorporated into a client's franchise, shareholder, partnership or LLC agreements, as appropriate.

Ultimately, the firm's commitment to providing personalized service and its proven ability to craft new solutions to the challenges posed by business succession are yet two more ways in which the firm stands apart from larger estate planning competitors.
